Arcadia - Original Painting

115 x 203cm (canvas size) original painting by Marcia Priestley. Acrylic on canvas *This artwork is signed on the bottom and rear of the painting and is 'unframed and shipped in a tube' (framing can be added upon request for an extra fee)

Arcadia unfolds as a vast, open landscape of softened pastel tones. Layers of colour stretch across the surface, suggesting distance, light, and atmosphere rather than place. The work holds a sense of calm expansion — spacious, gentle, and quietly immersive.

A soft, chalkiness texture emerges in Marcia's paintings formed by layers of texture creating a realistic view of depth and character. A technique unique to her work, Marcia Priestley' evokes an engaging narrative fluent with emotion using a powdered application with acrylic on canvas to create a serene viewing. Lyrical tones are sculptured and composed of longitudinal arrangements or pattern formation creating movement, body, texture & difference.
