Beneath The Blue Haze - Original Art

Original artwork Beneath the Blue Haze is a piece from Melbourne artist Leanne Daquino.

Leanne's pieces are created by using a variety of hand printed and painted collage papers. She enjoys the creative freedom that comes with creating these papers, and using them to incorporate a range of textures, patterns, and colors into her paintings. By layering these papers with different levels of transparency, she is able to create works that hold a sense of mystery and intrigue for the viewer, inviting them to explore the nuances and depths of her pieces.

A veil of soft blue washes creates the atmosphere for Beneath the Blue Haze, where blooms emerge like memories just beneath the surface. Petals in ivory, blush, and warm ochre spill across a layered backdrop, textured with lace-like imprints and hints of mossy green. The piece captures both lightness and depth — delicate yet grounded, ethereal yet enduring.

It's a painting that invites pause, much like the quiet moment at dusk when the garden settles under a soft blue sky.
